The Missing Moon

In 2008, P.J.'s daughter Maitreya saw her first lunar eclipse. It was such an exciting event that we decided it should be a story topic. In this book, after watching a beautiful sunset, Styraki and his cousins turn to see the full Moon rising with a chunk taken-out. The cousins become fearful of a big moon-eating dinosaur until Styraki shows them the Moon is clearly out of reach, even for an apatosaurus. Styraki dreams of future dinosaurs figuring out the concept of Earth's shadow passing over the Moon. Another total lunar eclipse is coming soon: December 18, 2010!
